BLIA Toronto Chapter's Da Tzu 2 Subchapter Hosts "Good to Have You Members Gathering"

On the afternoon of March 31st, the Da Tzu 2 Subchapter of the Buddha's Light International Association (BLIA) Toronto Chapter organized a special event at the Fo Guang Shan Temple of Toronto. The "Good to Have You Members Gathering" aimed to express gratitude to senior members for their continuous support to Fo Guang Shan and BLIA while  warmly welcoming new members to the subchapter. The event was graced by the presence of Monastic Advisor Ven. Man Long and BLIA Toronto Chapter director Sue Hutchison, along with over 30 members in attendance.

Ven. Man Long opened the gathering with a warm welcome, setting a positive tone for the proceedings. Subchapter President Tiger Chen shared a heartfelt video titled "Good to HaveYou," showcasing the subchapter's growth journey from 2017 to 2020, despite the challenges posed by the global pandemic. The video highlighted members' unwavering commitment and the spirit of “Giving” of Fo Guang Shan.

During the introduction session, both seasoned and new members, alongside committees, shared valuable insights, experiences, and words of wisdom, fostering mutual support and camaraderie. In recognition of their dedication, the subchapter presented tokens of appreciation to senior members and dedicated volunteers.

As the event concluded, attendees united in song with the uplifting melodies of "Sounds of the Human World," while enjoying delicious vegetarian delicacies lovingly prepared by subchapter’s members. Ven. Man Long underscored the essence of "Humanistic Buddhism," emphasizing that anything that nurtures happiness and peace within humanity embodies the core principles. She likened Fo Guang Shan and BLIA to the wings of a bird, suggesting that as our minds broaden, our world becomes more peaceful and beautiful.
